In life, Shen brought people together. She was a joyous, fun person.  Her upbeat mood was contagious and made people want to be around her.  In death, Shen continues to bring people together.  All over the community in which she lived, people are coming together to ensure that this remarkable young woman will not be forgotten.  The support from the community has been overwhelming.

A Scholarship Fund has been established in Shen's name for students who demonstrate strong academic ability, achievement in sports, and a commitment to community service.  Activities such as a carwash and a concert (organized by teenagers and adults in the community who donated their time) are just two of the events that have this fund growing at a rapid rate.

Shen's death will not be in vain.  It is too soon to tell all that will result from this tragic event, but the early signs are that many good things will result from Shen's short and remarkable life.

Let's all be thankful that we were privileged to have known Shen Poehlman. The joy and goodness that her memory is bringing to others will be exceeded only by the joy and goodness she brought to others in life.

Gone, dear Shen, but you shall never be forgotten
May you rest in peace!
